The IRS Code is 75,000 pages
The Tax Code on it's own is 6,872 pages. The rest is endless; statues, regulations, case law, revenue rulings, clarifications, interpretations, and official guidance of tax law.

No wonder, most businesses are overpaying their taxes. Most businesses aren't reading the Tax Code. The controversy over the size of the Tax Code has baffled the internet for a few years. Some parties refuse to accept that the Tax Code could be so lengthy.
I worked for the IRS for 20 years. The Tax Code is not complicated, it is obscene. -John Welsh
As of 2024, the IRS Code was 4,209,496 words.
Add an additional 12,009,077 words for the IRS Regulations that need to be read in conjunction with the Code.
That's a grand total of 16,218,573 words. Let that sink in.
The word count is over 16 Million 😳
Most people won't read most of it.
It would take the average reader 14 weeks to read the Tax Code
